Christchurch Pops Choir seeks new Artistic Director
The Christchurch Pops Choir seeks a dynamic musical leader to assume the role of Artistic Director from early 2019.
We are a choir of 95 singers aged from 20 to 65 who sing choral arrangements of popular music: Gospel-Gershwin-Gaga and anything in between. We perform to a high standard and are looking for a new artistic director who can continue our growth as singers, musicians and performers. We love what we do, but want to go on getting better.
Founded by Luke di Somma in June 2011, the choir was led by Ravil Atlas from 2015, until 2017 when Matthew Everingham took the helm. Matthew is leaving the choir role in order to pursue a career overseas, and we wish him all the best.
The Christchurch Pops Choir is well established in the city’s musical landscape. We perform at a wide range of charitable, civic and corporate events, and appreciate the support of our principal sponsor, Christchurch International Airport Limited.
We thrill audiences with our vibrant versions of popular music at concerts in Christchurch, around the South Island, and recently at the Hainan Choral Festival in China. The choir has been selected to take part in DCINY’s Total Vocal Series in New York in March 2019.
